No. The wooden slats support most innerspring Alaskan King-size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.We also sell two versions of our custom-made Alaskan King mattresses. The foam-based Grand Slumber and the foam-coil Grand Slumber Hybrid. Both are available as Accessories with your Alaskan King Bed.
